#OOTD | 50 Shades of Nude

Hey guys!

So like any other day, I was scrolling through my Instagram feed looking at the latest posts. I like to follow a lot of fashion and beauty pages to keep up with new trends or any new products that are coming out. Plus I just like to see what other people are wearing. Well a couple of weeks back I came across a post from a YouTuber I follow by the name of LustreLux. She mainly does make-up tutorials but on occasion she will post some info about her outfits. On this certain day she posted this pic of a dressier jean look: Photo Mar 31, 11 26 32 AM

A few days after that I saw Nordstrom put a pic on Instagram of a similar outfit that they believed was on trend: Photo Mar 31, 5 05 29 PM

Now these two posts got me really excited as I knew that I had very similar pieces of clothing already in my closest. One of those being a recent purchase of the nude strappy heels by Steve Madden. I really like this outfit because its dressy and casual but without trying too hard. I also love that its using a lot of nude colors because those are still very trendy even as we come in to Spring and Summer. I feel like nude is one of those colors that will always be classic and used all year round. So below is my interpretation of this look inspired by those two photos above.

#OOTD – Black n’ Burgundy

Hey Guys,

So I’m a little late posting this, but I wanted to share a quick outfit of the day from this past Good Friday. Its a pretty basic look but my favorite piece are the shoes. (I feel like I say that every time, haha). Anyway, I found these babies on sale at DSW Shoes. I’ve been wanting some open booties like this for a while. They are not the most comfortable shoes & my feet did sweat a little, but they are cute. Isn’t that whats important here? Well I hope you all enjoy. Outfit deets will be listed below like always. xoxo

Top 10 Beauty Products I Always Repurchase

Hey everyone,

With new beauty products coming out every month, its easy to get swept up with all the hype. I’ll be the first to admit that I am a sucker for new products and I occasionally find myself at the Sephora check out line with new goodies. However, as time has gone by there are 10 beauty products that have been my fave and I have repurchased time and time again. These products are my “ride-or-dies” for my daily make-up routine. Now, you may also notice that some of the basic make-up necessities like foundation and BB creams are not listed below. That is because I am still on the hunt for my absolute favorite product of those, but I will definitely keep you posted. Without further delay here are the Top 10 Beauty Products I Always Repurchase….

lush mint julips #1 Lush Mint Julips ($9.95)– Before my morning/make-up routine, I dip my fingers into this jar a grab about a pea sized amount of product. I take that and start rubbing it across my lips (mainly my bottom lip). After a few scrubs I either lick (yes its vegan and edible) or wipe off my lips with water. This products is my fave because its super easy to use, its quick, and it leaves my lips super smooth. I don’t like putting on lipstick if my lips are dry and peeling, so I definitely recommend this product. Lush also offers it in different flavors like mint, popcorn (ew!), and bubble gum.

shiseido ibuki moisturizer#2 Shesido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer ($45.00) – You may remember this product from my 2014  Fall Favorites, and I still use this moisturizer daily. It has a very creamy and liquid-y texture. One pump does your whole face and neck which allows it to last a really long time! Now, it can feel a bit greasy when you first apply it to your skin, but it really gets in and hydrates your face. I have combination to oily skin (mainly on my T-zone) but I like to put this on my cheeks and chin where I tend to be a bit drier. I don’t know what it is but there is something very rich and luxurious feeling about this moisturizer. This is definitely a go-to before my foundation application. Continue reading

#OOTD | Blog Your Dreams

Hey everyone,

While doing some online shopping I came across this really cute white shirt with the words “Blog Your Dreams”. I immediately knew that I needed this as I felt like it described my new blogging journey. Beauty and fashion have been a passion of mine for a long time and it wasn’t until I started this blog that I was able to really express that passion. So today, I encourage you to “blog your dreams” as well. Whether that be going to travel to places you’ve never been, conquer a fear, start a new business, whatever it is in your heart, do it! I think we all have desires and dreams that we sometimes keep inside for fear of rejection or failure. Trust me, that was me too. But as they say “If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’ll always be in the same place”. I’m definitely preaching to myself here. I know there’s more in my heart that I want to accomplish and I want to move forward to reach my goals. I hope you guys enjoy this Outfit Of The Day & Make-up Of The Day. More details are listed below. Photo credit goes to my friend, Stephanny Rodriguez. Xoxo

Mini Road Trip | St. Augustine, FL

Hey guys,

This past weekend I took a mini road trip from Tampa to St. Augustine Florida. For those of you that have been following my posts for the last couple of weeks, you may remember my End of the Year post for 2014. In that post I wrote about some of my struggles with anxiety and how I started to go to therapy because of it. In one of my sessions, my therapist and I talked about one of my specific triggers which is getting out of my comfort zone. As you may remember, that type of trigger is one of my biggest for anxiety and panic attacks. So, with that all being said, my therapist decided to give me a “homework” assignment. I was to drive somewhere at least two hours away (I usually get anxious traveling long distances by airplane or car), and I was to try to enjoy myself. I also had to attempt to control my anxiousness if any triggers arose and use some of the “tools” I had learned to cope with it. Anyways, I mention all of this to explain where this random trip to St. Augustine came from. It still was a great time I got to spend with my boyfriend, and I did enjoy myself for the most part. Here are some snippets and captions of our time there. Enjoy!! Continue reading

Foodie | Ūlëlē Restaurant Review & etc.

DSC03296Hello my fellow fatties at heart,

A week ago my sister, God-brother, & myself, along with our significant others, went on our “Sibling Triple Date” to one of Tampa Bay’s new trendy restaurants, Ūlëlē. This restaurant is located at the end of Tampa’s River Walk in downtown Tampa off N. Henderson Rd. According to their website, Ūlëlē (pronounced “you-lay-lee) “celebrates the vibrant fusion of ingredients from Florida waters and land once home to many Native Americans, including the young princess Ūlëlē. Expect intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on the 10′ diameter barbacoa grill.”  It also has a cool old-school look with its brick building (formerly the Tampa Water Works building) and has a really pretty view at sunset. Along with that, there are nicely lit Palm trees, a really unique entrance door, and an overall modern-industrial look. I’ve included some pix of the building and some of the inside  for your pleasure. Continue reading

Favorites | Hair Styling Products

Hi guys,

So today I thought I’d share a little bit on some of my current favorite hair styling products. I’m talking about everything from cleaning your hair to styling. I guess I should start off by telling you more about my hair. I was born with pretty thick, straight, dark brown hair. I have dyed my hair several times in my lifetime but mostly to different shades of brown. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2014 when I decided to go red. I will say that being a “red-head” has been my favorite so far, however, it has also been the color I have to maintain the most. I try to get my hair redone about every five weeks or so and I usually have my stylist recolor all of my hair instead of just my roots. I think I do this because I really just like the look of fresh red hair all the time instead of the faded red. I also am more careful about the shampoo and conditioners that I use since red can be the color that fades the fastest. Anyways, more about all of that below. Let me know your thoughts and feedback in the comments section! Continue reading

#OOTD | Sunday Afternoon

Hello everyone,

I have totally been loving the fall and winter weather this year as well as the end of 2014 so much. I mean, yes I live in Florida, but for some reason the weather has been warm but still cool enough to allow us to wear long sleeve shirts and even boots sometimes. This particular Sunday afternoon my boyfriend and I had some lunch in an area called Ybor City close by where we live. We also took some time for a quick stroll around too. I really like how the streets of Ybor City have that nice historic look with the brick roads. It definitely helps with taking nicer pictures.  My boyfriend and I had quite a time trying to get these pics to work (mostly because I am a pain in the butt and have the patience of a 2-year-old). But none the less, I really hope you enjoy it as I am obsessed with this outfit. I especially love the shoes! Ah, gotta love Jessica Simpson. Let me know your thoughts below.

End of the Year Review | 2014

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.” -T.S. Eliot

Hey guys!

So I wanted to share some of my thoughts about how my 2014 year went. I will be completely honest and say that 2014 has been one of the most challenging years of my life. However, that can be viewed as a good or bad thing, just depending on your personal perspective. I feel like I have had hard situations and growing moments as an adult. I’ve also had sweet and special moments that I’ll never forget. I’m usually not one to get all mushy and reflect over the previous year, but I feel like I had to express how much I feel like I have grown and accomplished in 2014. Continue reading

Favorites | Fall 2014

fallfaves2014Hello friends!

With the season of Fall coming to an end, I’ve gathered up some things that I have been really enjoying these past few months. I love how every season brings a different type of style and look, as well as things that make us know that particular season is here. For me, plaid shirts, leggings, darker lips, pumpkin pies and over sized sweaters make me think of fall. I’m sure that for most of you, except us Floridians, falling leaves bring that feeling too. So below I have some of those things that I have been loving for fall. Let me know what items have been your favorite too. Oh, and don’t forget to “follow” the blog as well as my other social media on the right for updates on new posts. Toodles! Continue reading
